Last of the 400

Bob Bussinger and his wife Betty were the managers of the complex I lived at in Houston Texas. Having come to know each over several years, I believe Bob felt confident enough about me to tell me that during WWII he was in the US Army and a member of a group he said was simply called "The 400". The 400 were a highly kept secret. As the pre-cursors to today's Navy Seals their training was rigorous. This group of handpicked men carried out dangerous missions in the Pacific.

Bob believed that being an orphan was a factor for having been chosen. At the time he told me about this, he said he was the last surviving member. Sadly, Bob died three years ago. Betty is now a tenant in the same complex.
